About AngloGold Ashanti

AngloGold Ashanti is one of the world's largest gold-mining companies, born from South African mining houses and now operating mines across Africa, the Americas and Australia. It produces gold from a portfolio of underground and open-pit operations and earns revenue almost entirely from bullion sales, making its profits highly geared to the US-dollar gold price and the rand exchange rate. Historically JSE-listed with deep South African heritage, AngloGold shifted its primary listing and domicile abroad in recent years. For investors it offers leveraged exposure to the gold price, a traditional hedge in times of economic uncertainty and currency weakness.
