Telkom SA is a South African integrated telecommunications operator, providing fixed-line and mobile voice and data, broadband, fibre and information-technology services. Its businesses include its mobile network (Telkom Mobile), the fixed and fibre network, the Openserve wholesale infrastructure arm, the BCX IT-services business and its Gyro property and towers portfolio. Partly state-owned, Telkom is listed on the JSE, and its earnings depend on data and mobile growth offsetting declining legacy fixed-line voice, plus the value of its infrastructure and property assets. It is a play on South African connectivity, fibre roll-out and the potential unlocking of value from its towers and property.
